The worshiping community of the Malankara Orthodox Church around the Delaware Valley area in Pennsylvania, USA, had been cherishing a dream of forming a parish within Delaware Valley (Exton, West Chester, Upper Darby, Delaware, King Of Prussia, Springfield, Broomall, Drexel Hill, Glen Mills) area.

By the Grace of our God and sincere efforts and dedication to this endeavor by certain members, the Diocesan Metropolitan was pleased to announce the new parish as St. John's Orthodox Congregation, Delaware Valley vide the Kalpana No. K81/ 2006.

Father Geevarghese Erakkath, was appointed as the first Vicar by the Kalpana No.K80/2006 with effect from November 15, 2006. His Grace Mathews Mar Barnabas, Diocesan Metropolitan, blessed the church and celebrated the Holy Qurbana on November 25, 2006 and there after made the declaration of the formation of the congregation.
